May Days of Giving: Sexy Sammies Celebrates Springtime by Giving Back
Ah, the sweet smell of flowers, the world coming back to life, and…snow!? It was a wild May, but no matter the weather, we want to keep giving back to the local community.
We had a fantastic May, starting with supporting local teachers. While there was a devastating loss in the national community, we hope that by doing good in our local one, we can still make a difference in this world.
In honor of our Greeley teachers, we catered a meal for over 75 teachers at Chappellow Elementary and faculty during Teacher Appreciation Week.
Chappelow Elementary is home to approximately 700 elementary-age students and is a wonderful Arts Magnet School. They develop the interests and talents of students in the arts and enhance all disciplines through an integrated approach, allowing students to achieve artistic and academic success.
UNC Students with Disabilities were given meals from Sexy Sammies on May 6th, providing lunch during finals week.
Every college student needs some hot, tender love.
Other May 2022 donations:
500 pounds of chicken to both Weld County Food Bank and Greeley Meals on Wheels in the month of May.
“Meals on Wheels of Greeley and Weld County has a mission to make a difference in the lives of those unable to prepare/cook for themselves by providing hot nutritious meals delivered by caring volunteers.”
“Weld Food Bank is a non-profit organization that alleviates hunger and poverty by providing food and services to people in need. Last year Weld Food Bank provided over 14.6 million pounds of food to the hungry in Weld County”
May had its ups and downs, and while it may be hard to always see the bright side of things, we hope to shed lots of love and light for those who need it most.
